Amazing place to visit. One of our favorite places to eat. Good food and better service

I attached this picture of the empty plate because the food was so good I forgot all about getting a before picture. Excellent alternative to waffle house. Atmosphere could be a lot better. Seemed very unorganized, there was breast milk in the fridge where people could see it, in general it felt unclean. Service was quick. Im on the fence for recommending this restaurant may or may not return.

My 1st visit. Place was crowded as usual. I got breakfast. It was just ok, nothing special. Good prices, very fast and friendly service. But I can get a better breakfast elsewhere.

We are in town visiting my daughter while the state in under a state of emergency and the university is shut down. The town is empty and small businesses are taking a hit so when we were looking for a place to eat breakfast, we chose Joe's! I'm glad we did! I had never noticed it before and my husband found it on an internet search. The food was great and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. The staff was attentive and friendly and the gentleman who spoke with us I believe must be the owner or manager and he too was friendly and thankful we came in. We'll be back in the future!

We were here visiting Virginia Tech and decided to get some breakfast one morning I found this little hole in the wall restaurant. It was excellent the wait staff was great and the food was very delicious and you get a lot for your money. Will definitely be visiting again

The best place to eat. Great food and our server jenna is amazing. She is always on her A game. So friendly. Everyone there is friendly. Thee owner is a sweet heart to and interacts with all the customers also. I would tell anyone to go to eat there.

Pretty darn good breakfast. I have had the big Joe's breakfast, western omelette, Philly cheese omelette, and steak and eggs. All of them were delicious. Coffee is a little bitter though. I think they need to clean the coffee maker or they make it stronger than I'm used too, not sure which. I also love the fact that I can get breakfast all day.

Love this place when in Blacksburg. Breakfast is basic but so good. Staff are friendly. Can't wait to return

We always stop at Joe's when we visit Blacksburg. The service and for are worth it if you have to wait for a seat. The owner personally engages to make sure customers enjoy themselves

Despite living in the NRV my whole life, I had never been to Joe's. The food was great for breakfast, thick bacon and sizable sandwiches. Service was quick and the 50s-60s decor tied with Blacksburg history felt genuine. Great place for breakfast or lunch any day of the week.

I love having breakfast here! I go late in the morning so it's not crowded, and the eggs are always cooked how I ask for them, over medium=over medium here. Love the bacon too.

Breakfast is served ALL DAY! We had a great country breakfast with good biscuits, but the grits were pretty plain. Someone else had a waffle, and it looked delicious! The service was friendly and very welcoming, even for NC State fans!

Great food and great service. Our waitress was very friendly and didn't push us to leave quickly like other restaurants we have been to in the area. We'll definitely be coming back on a regular basis.

Mediocre food, even worse service. We went down to try Joe's after hearing about the place and were totally blown away at how bad the experience was. We sat down and the server came by and took our drink order. Time passed and we never received our drinks. After probably 20 minutes, we waved down our server and we're quickly told our order was almost up. We said, that can't be possible as we have yet to order or even receive drinks. The server quickly apologized and finally took our order. We ended up waiting nearly 45 more minutes for our food. At the end, we weren't offered any apology for the delay. I know we are a bit older than the usual college crowd, but business is business one would think. Luckily, Blacksburg has plenty of other breakfast options. Hit up the Waffle House for a much better option!

Typical small town greasy spoon type place. Not my favorite but solid, and the coffee keeps flowing.

Busy, crowded, unorganized and inefficient. Friendly staff and good value for the food. I wouldn't go out of my way to go.

Plenty of food at good prices and excellent service, just a great diner. Large menu that offers almost everything you could want in comfort food, you won't leave hungry. One of my favorite places in Blacksburg, especially if you want breakfast food anytime of the day. Portions are large, come hungry and enjoy.

Edit 6/28/2018 : As promised I am updating my review. I had the cheesy eggs meal. It was pretty good overall but the sausage and hash browns seemed a touch overdone. I would definitely come back and try some more things though.I had a spicy chicken wrap. It was okay but it wasn't great. That was probably my own fault for choosing that. I should have picked a breakfast item because those all looked awesome. I will come back and edit my review once I've tried the breakfast.

Several times I've been here for scrabbled eggs, grits and biscuits and coffee. Great place for breakfast any day.

This is a unique breakfast place. The food and service were both good. Food was prepared quickly and the portions were quite large. I ordered an omelette and it came with a few sides. The inside is nicely decorated with memorabilia. Bathrooms are small but clean.

Classic college town diner!!! A go-to place after partying all night or a great alternative to over priced brunch fare. Good prices and great food.

All I can say is, this is the place i want to wake up and eat at every morning for the rest of my life. Friendly service and the breakfast was really really good!! Denny's, IHOP and bob evans dont compare! Big Joe's Breakfast with biscuits and gravy 2 eggs over medium over hashbrowns and sausage patties that aren't fatty and chewy! I come to blacksburg 3-4 times a year from Cleveland, ohio and between Joe's for breakfast and Jack Browns(Roanoke) that's all I need! I need to move here. On another note, I read some other reviews and if you ding Joe's because of its appearance then you need to go to IHOP or Bob Evan's and relax in your comfy place and eat high priced average food and your out of touch with Americana!!

I love the small diner feel at this place. The staff is super friendly and everyone seems happy. I had the vegetarian wrap with onion rings and the food was absolutely delicious. I cant believe I lived here for so long without knowing about this place.
